Aaron Shust

Aaron Shust grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was interested in music at an early age. He learned to play both the guitar and piano as a child. He studied music at Toccoa Falls College and in his free time he played music at local coffee shops and churches. After college, Aaron Shust began working full time as a worship leader at a church near Atlanta, Georgia. He began writing new worship music, not only for his local church, but for camps and retreats around the US.

Aaron Shust decided to record an album with his worship band for their congregation, not knowing that recording would change his life. The album Anything Worth Saying was released by Brash Music in 2005 and featured the song “My Savior, My God.” which rocketed to the top of the inspirational charts.

That was followed by the album Whispered and Shouted in 2007. That year he also took home GMA Dove Awards for New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

In 2009, Aaron Shust released a new studio album called Take Over and a Christmas EP. He then joined up with Centricity Music for his next album This Is What We Believe (2011). That album featured the song “My Hope Is In You” which hit #1 on the soft AC charts.

Aaron Shust’s latest album has come in the midst of an emotional whirlwind in his personal life, including serious medical issues and miraculous moments with his young sons. The album is called Morning Rises (2013) and features the song “God of Brilliant Lights”.
