Rachael Lampa was born in Ann-Arbour Michigan in 1985 and started singing right away. By the age of 4 she was already perfecting harmonies. Her talent was first showcased, on The Jenny Jones Show at the age of 12. It was part of the Young Talent Search. Around the same time she also competed in the World Championship of Entertainment and placed 2nd. Her big break came when she was only 14. She was attending a music conference in Colorado when the singer at a cafe didn’t show up. Rachael Lampa filled in. In the audience was a producer from Word Records, and she was soon signed by the label. In the year 2000 at the age of just 15, Rachael Lampa’s debut album Live For You was released. It was a smash hit. She won a Dove award for the song Blessed, she appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and began touring with Stacy Oricco who was also a teen when she debuted that year. They have been best friends ever since. In 2002 she was featured on the soundtrack to the Mandy Moore movie A Walk To Remember. Her second studio album, Kaleidoscope, come out the same year. That was followed by a remix album called Blur.
> In 2004 she released her latest full length album simply called Rachael Lampa. She took a bit more control on this album, with the role of executive producer. She also didn’t let anyone write for her. She wrote every song by herself, or collaborating with a co-writer. The result was a unique and diverse style. In 2005 she left Word Records, although they did release a Best of album without her. Meanwhile she appeared on a compilation album called The Message.
Racheal Lampa is still touring, writing and recording, despite the fact the she remains unsigned. You can listen to some of the songs on myspace. She made her acting debut in the movie Hidden Secrets.
In 2010 she released her first extended play called Human. She is currently recording a new album to be released fall 2011.
