The story of The City Harmonic started in a high school in
Hamilton Ontario, where lead singer Elias Dummer met bassist Eric Fusilier. They
played music together in band class. Elias also played guitar in a
worship band with Aaron Powell on keys. Then they switched instruments. Two
additional members, Sasha and Matt where on board when they formed the band
called ELIAS. They released an indie album called Hope is Born Again in 2008. That
year they won the Covenant Award for “Modern Worship Song of the Year”. Sasha
then left the band and Matt followed to take a job as pastor. Eric’s college roommate
Josh Vanderlaan was filling in as drummer until they decided to keep him and
start the band over again.
After a long time with no name the finally settled on The
City Harmonic. In 2011 they were signed by Kingsway Worship. They released
their first studio EP called Introducing City Harmonic. They won three Covenant
awards for that album including New Artist of the Year.
